Privacy Policy
Overview
This policy explains how your information is handled in the Kosshi app and on this website (kosshi.app).
Who Is Responsible
The data controller for the Kosshi app and this website is Junichi Sato (Shirokuma MAKE), based in Japan. You can reach the controller through the contact page.
Kosshi App
Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device. The Developer does not collect, transmit, or access your data.
iCloud Sync
Kosshi offers optional iCloud sync across your devices. When enabled, your data is stored in your own iCloud account. The Developer has no access to your iCloud data. Apple's privacy policy governs how iCloud data is handled.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed through the App Store. All payment information is managed by Apple. The Developer does not collect or access your payment details.
Analytics & Tracking
Kosshi does not collect any analytics or usage data. No third-party tracking or advertising services are used in the app.
Website (kosshi.app)
Web Analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall site traffic. It does not use cookies, does not track visitors across sites, and does not collect any information that identifies individuals. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
Contact
If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry. Email is received in the operator's mailbox (Google's mail service).
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, we collect your email address to send you updates about Kosshi, such as new features and releases. We use it only for this purpose, never for advertising, and never share it with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
This sign-up is part of the Shirokuma newsletter (operated by Junichi Sato) and is managed under the Kosshi topic. Sign-up and delivery are handled by Resend (Resend, Inc., US), which stores your email address to manage your subscription. For how the newsletter handles your information, see the shirokumamake.com newsletter.
Your Rights
Legal Basis for Processing
We process the limited data described above on the following bases: (a) legitimate interest, for aggregated and anonymous site analytics; (b) consent, when you voluntarily email us; (c) contractual necessity, for handling support inquiries you initiate.
Data Retention
Your app data persists on your device until you delete it. iCloud data is retained according to Apple's policies and under your control via iCloud Settings. Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregated statistics and does not retain personally identifiable visitor data. Contact form messages are kept for up to 24 months after the conversation ends, then deleted unless we are required to retain them by law.
International Transfers
The Developer operates from Japan. Cloudflare, Apple, and Resend may process data in countries outside your own under their respective safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and equivalent arrangements). Since the Developer does not collect personal data through the app, no app data is transferred internationally by the Developer.
Rights of EEA, UK, and California Users
If you reside in the EEA, UK, or California, you have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection regarding personal data we hold about you. Because the Developer does not collect or store your in-app data, most of these rights are exercised directly:
- To delete your app data, delete it within Kosshi or remove the app.
- To manage your iCloud data, use iCloud Settings on your device or privacy.apple.com.
- To request deletion of any email correspondence we hold, use the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
We do not sell personal information. We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For users in the EEA, this is your national supervisory authority; for users in the UK, it is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
General
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page along with an updated revision date.
