Auto Backup
Kosshi automatically backs up your outline in the background.
How It Works
- Kosshi checks for a backup when an outline opens and before applying some iCloud changes. On Mac, it also checks once an hour
- If the outline has not changed since the last backup, no new backup is created
- Backups are stored in iCloud when available, so they can be accessed from any device
Retention
Older backups are automatically thinned out:
- Today — one backup per hour
- Previous days — one backup per day
Backups older than the retention period are deleted. The default is 1 year. Under Settings > Data > Backup, you can change it to 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, or Unlimited.
Restoring a Backup
- Open Settings > Data > Backup
- Under Recent Backups, choose a backup. On Mac, choose Preview beside it
- Open the restore menu in the preview and choose Replace All with This Backup… to replace the current outline. You can also add the selected rows or the entire backup to the current outline
You can undo a restore.
Images and Attachments
Auto backups do not include images or file attachments. To create a full backup including everything, use Manual Backup.
Turning Off
You can disable auto backup under Settings > Data > Backup. Existing backups are preserved when turned off.
