Quick Capture

On macOS, Quick Capture opens a temporary panel from any app using a global shortcut. Captured notes are added below the selected destination in your shared outline. The default destination is Inbox.

Set Up Quick Capture

1. Open Settings > Capture
2. Turn on Quick Capture
3. Select the shortcut field and press the global shortcut you want to use
4. To use a destination other than Inbox, choose a row under Destination

Capture Notes

Press the shortcut from any app to open the capture panel. The panel starts with a new empty row below the destination. Enter your note, then press Enter to add more rows when needed.

Close the panel when you finish. Captured rows remain in the shared outline, and an unused empty capture row is removed.

You can also choose Choose Destination in the capture panel to change where future notes are added.
