Sketch

On iPad, you can add handwritten sketches inline with Apple Pencil. Drawing uses Apple's standard tool picker, so the writing feel matches the rest of the system.

Adding a Sketch

1. On iPad, select a row and insert a sketch from the keyboard toolbar or the context menu
2. Draw on the canvas with Apple Pencil
3. Tap outside the canvas to finish editing

Editing

Tap a sketch to reopen the canvas. Use the menu in the top-right corner of the canvas to clear or delete the sketch.

Resizing

Drag the dot grip at the corner of a sketch to resize it. The aspect ratio is preserved. Sketches can also be resized on Mac.

Viewing on Mac

Sketches are view-only on Mac — they cannot be edited there. Double-click a sketch to open it in the same lightbox used for images.

Sync

Sketches sync across devices through iCloud (CloudKit). They are exported as plain images.
